- The Northwest Chapter in cooperation with the
Museum of Flight is working to establish an aviation scholarship
program to award scholarships to high school students who have the
dream but not the means to become a pilot.
-
- The Take Flight
Program builds motivation and
inspiration. As with
all Museum of Flight programs, Take Flight integrates the life
skills of critical thinking, communications, problem solving and
decision with the learning of very diverse academic subjects. The hands-on activities force participants to use what they
have learned in their classroom, analyze information and put their
knowledge into practice. It’s
an exercise many youth never experience.
Activities build the self-esteem, the perseverance, and the
“can do” attitude that parallels the evolution of aviation
history around the world. Flying began as a dream.
Museum activities help all children realize that they too,
can accomplish their dreams.
-
-
The Northwest Chapter of the Distinguish Flying Cross
Society is dedicated to helping those selected for a Take Flight
Scholarship in continuing that dream.
The Chapter will work closely with the student, parents,
teachers, and schools, to help that student receive an appointment
to one of the military academies.
